Founded in 2018 by siblings Addie and Alex Daniels the Green Bag Project aims to collect food for the hungry students and their families in the Chino Valley Unified School District. Volunteers called “Food Neighbors” collect food six times a year in their “neighborhood”. These neighborhoods can be traditional residential areas, workplaces, civic organizations, churches, and more. Bi-monthly, collected food is delivered to the sort location, weighed and distributed directly to families, is retained for the student pantry, or is utilized in weekend meal bags for children. Annually, Chino Valley Food Neighbors collects and distributes over 15,000 pounds of food.
